Members of the Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian Inter-Parliamentary Assembly are convinced that signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius in November is necessary and possible
It was stated in the Declaration of the Fifth Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland and Saejma of the Republic of Lithuania that was signed in Warsaw by the Chairmen of national Parliaments Volodymyr Rybak, Bogdan Borusewicz and Vydas Gedvilas on Tuesday.
According to the document, members of the Assembly kindly greet the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of February 22, 2013 “On fulfillment of Euro-integrational aspirations of Ukraine and conclusion of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement”, and state that they will cooperate in order to fulfill intentions declared during the EU-Ukraine Summit on February 25, 2013, in Brussels, according to the schedule of implementation of legislative and administrative measures.
Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland and Saejma of the Republic of Lithuania will provide the Verkhovna Rada comprehensive expert and organizational support that will allow to use experience of new states-members of Central-Eastern Europe in the sphere of development of democratic institutions and legal state, and adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the EU requirements. The Verkhovna Rada will receive assistance and support in the process of reforms aimed at fulfillment of political, legal and economic criteria by Ukraine in its way to the European Union.
Members of the Assembly kindly claims that represented by the Lithuanian delegation priorities of presidency in the EU Council meet with the European and integrational aims of the Assembly.
The Declaration expresses conviction that fulfillment of the conditions required for the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement are necessary and possible, and hopes that this Agreement will be signed during the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius in November.
Members of the Assembly kindly accepted information from the Polish Party on the state of preparation for creating joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian military brigade UKRPOLLITBRYH.
Members of the Assembly agree that approved on the occasion of the 440th anniversary of the Union of Lublin joint publishing project that shows the common destiny of our people will be an expression of trust and faith in the common future of Europe. Texts written by historians from Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, and Belarus under the auspices of the Assembly will be published with consideration of the structure and purpose of the Assembly, the autonomy of its members and financial conditions that ensure the political reliability of the joint event.
Oleksandr Hehera, Mykola Dmytruk, Oleh Pankevych, Oksana Prodan and Mykola Fedoruk entered into the composition of the official delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
